J.R. Rotem on Britney Spears Pregnancy Story: "There Is Absolutely No Truth to This"

Britney Spears' ex-producer and former boyfriend J.R. Rotem has issued a statement denying In Touch's new cover story that claims he and the pop singer are expecting a child.

In the statement to Usmagazine.com, he said: "There is absolutely no truth to this." In a text message to Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show in L.A. Wednesday, Spears' pal Sam Lutfi also debunked the story, calling it "BS. Don't know who made it up. J.R. doesn't even know what's up. It's fake. Completely fake."

On its new cover, In Touch featured a shot of Spears under the headline: "Yes, She's Pregnant!" The story quoted Rotem as saying, "It's true."

Knox Fingerprint, Blood Found at Murder Scene

A single fingerprint and a trace of blood belonging to American student Amanda Knox were found in the Perugia apartment where her British roommate was slain, but the apartment was otherwise cleaned, news reports said Wednesday.

Investigators have concluded that the blood was left on the bathroom faucet sometime between Nov. 1 and 2, the ANSA news agency reported, placing Knox in the apartment either the night her roommate died or the next morning.
Knox has acknowledged she was home the night Meredith Kercher, 21, was killed by a knife wound to the neck but has denied any wrongdoing.
Calls to Knox's attorney were not answered Wednesday.

"The visibility of the stain is such to exclude that it could have been left in the days before the crime since it would surely have been cleaned," investigating magistrate Giuliano Mignini wrote in a summary of his probe so far, ANSA reported.

Knox, 20, a University of Washington student from Seattle, has said in one of her several conflicting statements to prosecutors that she was in the apartment the night of the slaying, saying at one point she had to cover her ears to drown out Kercher's screams and returned the next day.

UK's toads 'at risk' from fungus

Britain's native toads are at risk from a deadly infection that has driven many of the world's amphibians to extinction, say UK scientists.
The fungal disease is currently confined to Kent, where it was brought in by imported frogs.
But if it spread further it could, in theory, completely wipe out the British toad population, according to research published in a Royal Society journal.
Experts want tighter controls on the aquarium trade to protect native toads.
The chytrid fungus, or Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, BD, as it is sometimes called, infects the skins of amphibians such as frogs, toads, salamanders and newts.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the 1960s-era supermodel will be vacating her America's Next Top Model post next year, the CW announced Monday. Stepping into her size 0 seat for Cycle 10 will be veteran cover girl Paulina Porizkova.

"We are thrilled to have Paulina as a part of this cycle's judging panel," ANTM executive producer Ken Mok said in a statement. "The show and participants will benefit a great deal from her vast modeling knowledge and expertise."
Runway specialist Miss J. Alexander and photographer Nigel Barker will be sitting on either side of Tyra Banks at the judges' table next year, as usual.

'Superman' Brandon Routh Marries Girlfriend

Brandon Routh, the newest incarnation of Superman, married longtime girlfriend, actress Courtney Ford, on Saturday.

The couple tied the knot at the El Capitan Ranch in Santa Barbara, according to a report in
"Even though it cooled off into the evening, I can only feel the warmth and love in this breath-taking setting," wedding planner Katie Tiffany of Tiffany Wedding told People.
Ford wore a Junko Yoshioka sheath dress with pave-diamond earrings by Neil Lane, which matched her Neil Lane engagement ring, according to People.


Routh reportedly skipped the red spandex for a cashmere suit by Looysen Fine Clothing.

The happy couple met four years ago. "I used to work at Lucky Strike," Routh told People in January, referring to the trendy bowling alley in Hollywood. "I was a bartender. And her brother was having his [wedding] rehearsal dinner party there."
The couple was able to make their long distance relationship work while Routh was in Australia shooting "Superman Returns" with nightly phone calls.

The story

BRITNEY SPEARS GETS THE KIDS FOR CHRISTMAS.

A new report says lawyers for the pop singer and former husband Kevin Federline hammered out an accord that allows the children to spend the holiday with Spears.
Allan Parachini, a spokesman for the LA County Superior Court, declined to confirm what was in the agreement but said, "There was a stipulation."
‘‘They have to be in California," Parachini added. "There was a discussion about [leaving California] and he [Commissioner Scorr Gordon] reminded them that there is an order that they can't be taken out of California.''
Spears and K-Fed have spent plenty of time in court arguing over custody issues. Most recently, Spears was told she can't drive with the children after several driving incidents. Today her attorney won a continuance in a case that alleges she drove without a valid California license.

PR pageant officials probe pepper spray

Beauty queen Ingrid Marie Rivera beat 29 rivals to become the island's 2008 Miss Universe contestant, despite applying makeup and wearing evening gowns that had been coated with pepper spray, pageant spokesman Harold Rosario said.

Rivera was composed while appearing before cameras and judges throughout the competition. But once backstage, she had to strip off her clothes and apply ice bags to her face and body, which swelled and broke out in hives twice.

"We thought at first it was an allergic reaction, or maybe nerves," Rosario said. "But the second time, we knew it couldn't have been a coincidence."
Rivera's clothing and makeup later tested positive for pepper spray.

Someone also stole Rivera's bag containing her gowns, makeup and credit cards. And a bomb threat forced pageant officials to postpone the last day of competition on Thursday, said Magali Febles, director of the Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant.
Pageant organizers said the hoped to catch and expose whoever was responsible for the pranks. They said, however, they were handling the investigation themselves and police are not involved.
